North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College

NWSLC is a multi-campus, mainstream college of further education, offering an extensive array of academic and vocational courses at each of our accessible sites. The Additional Learning Support department is part of the wider Student Experience team, offering adaptive provision and support for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Included in this provision is a broad selection of supported learning programmes, internships and apprenticeships, offered through our Foundation Learning department.

NWSLC provides education and support for learners of all abilities and its Local Offer ranges from the Universal Provision of high-quality, differentiated course delivery, through to the Additional and High Needs support offered by the Additional Learning Support and wider Student Experience teams. This includes support for learners who experience:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Mental Health Conditions
  • Physical Disability
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Specific Learning Difficulties, Conditions and Disabilities

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College offer three main pathways for school leavers:

  • Full-time college courses: technical/vocational qualifications
  • Apprenticeship programmes: work as a paid employee for at least 30 hours a week whilst working towards your qualification
  • T Levels: spend 80% of the time in the classroom and 20% in an industry placement

Access to Higher Education

With many career routes and professions requiring degree-level studies, you may need a stepping-stone to help you qualify for higher-level studies. NWSLC offer a one-year* Access to Higher Education programmes lead to a Level 3 qualification and can be funded using an Advanced Learner LoanLink opens in a new window.
